The first time Dee took a yoga class, she was immediately captivated. As a result yoga instantly became part of her daily routine. She has been a Personal Trainer for the past 10 years; she has always been a workout buff! Yoga was the one thing missing from her workout. Dee teaches a Vinyasa flow style of yoga to all levels of fitness. Helping to change your life one yoga practice at a time through your mind, body & spirit…is her goal every time she teaches. Dee believes that hard work and perseverance really makes a difference in one’s yoga practice, and it is easy to do, when you are doing something you love. “Sharing your love of yoga is the greatest gift a yoga teacher can give to someone” -Dee
Aside from a wife and mom of little ones...Heather's passions include teaching barre, restorative yoga and Pilates mat classes. Bringing fun music and great energy to each class, she guides her students into a fun, mind and body strength class.
JoEllen came to Yoga via Transcendental Mediation when The Beatles brought it over from India in the late 1960’s. She was immediately enamored. She moved to California from back east in 1983 and began practicing regularly at her neighborhood studio. It’s a practice and a lifestyle she loves deeply and wants to share with as many people as possible. In 2015 she became a certified yoga instructor - this is a way to share her love and pay forward the gifts bestowed upon her by meditation and yoga.
Karen chose to major in Sociology at California State Long Beach to better understand the world around her, but it was many years as a student of yoga that ultimately lead to a better understanding of herself. It was not long after returning from a trip with Habitat for Humanity that she came to realize she could combine her passion for giving back with her love of yoga through teacher training. Karen completed her 200 hour teaching certification and is currently enrolled in the Yoga Therapy RX program at Loyola Marymount University. Her goal as an instructor is to communicate with her students in a way that allows them to leave her class with knowledge they can use to become more confident in their own practice. Her greatest joy comes from watching her students grow to realize the true potential within themselves.
Marcella has been practicing Yoga for 20years but a work injury led her to rethink her health and career. In February 2013 she completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Program with a emphasis in Yoga Therapy. She has since been teaching at Harmony HB, Huntington Beach, California. Because Marcella's teachers come from many different yoga backgrounds, she is not devoted to a single methodology or lineage. Marcella's training allows her to help her client/student find the remedy best suited to their needs.
Michelle began practicing yoga consistently in 2005 while living in bustling Saigon, Vietnam. She received her teaching certification in 2008. Since 2008, she has been teaching yoga in Asia which has included regular group, private and corporate classes, organizing retreats and special events, hosting international instructors and working with resorts in the region. Complementing her yoga practice, Michelle also practices therapeutic massage privately after receiving her 700 hour massage therapy training. Relocating to Huntington Beach at the start of 2015 after a decade living outside of the US has been refreshing and surprisingly exotic for this California native. Michelle is enjoying getting to know the community, smelling the sea air, getting sand in between her toes and mud under her boots as often as possible.
Michelle's classes are geared for all levels. Encouraging a beginner's mind, focus on breath, safe alignment and modifications, while keeping a playful and curious spirit.
